Welcome to Acworth, GA. A familiar stop on the Western & Atlantic Railroad.

Acworth was incorporated in 1860 after growing from a water stop on the railroad. Once known as Northcutt Station, Acworth has slowly made a name for itself among the larger cities of Metro-Atlanta. Just a few short years after it’s beginning, Acworth was one of many stops along Sherman’s march to the sea.

Throughout the 1900’s Acworth remained a small town with a struggling economy. Spanning across four counties, there was not much centralization for retail, dining, and transportation.

Today, Acworth is the pinnacle of success in North Cobb County, and business is thriving! Improvements to the city’s infrastructure, along with a booming national economy have launched small business owners into bustling success.

The Historic Cowan Mill, and the Western & Atlantic Railroad are two features of Acworth landscape that pre-date the civil war.
