Here are the Tanner Facts. Whether you want them or not.

Hi, I’m Tanner, 4th Generation Georgian from the hills of Paulding County. Local Realtor, and creator of Corridor Culture. If you haven’t already noticed, I’m passionate about our little piece of America. I love our views, our food, our adventures, and our history. Living here my entire life has allowed me to watch the area evolve and change through the years. Some things have remained the same for over a hundred years, while other things are fresh and new. I’ve put this page together so that you can experience the incredibly nerdy and only mildly useful facts that I’ve collected over the years. A friend of mine once told me “you really need to share your Tanner facts with people”. So here we go…

  • Take a Hike

Hiking is one of my favorite passtimes. I have put down more than 200 miles on the Apalachian Trail, but there’s nothing better than a local day hike. Pine Mountain in Cartersville has more than 5 miles of trails and an amazing view from the top. Don’t confuse this with Pine Log Wildlife Management Area, which is just north and much more rural. Pine Log offers more than 20 miles of difficult trails!

  • Tacos & Queso

If your crew is anything like mine, tacos & queso are a regular go-to for date nights, Sunday lunch, or any other excuse to dine. Huey Lueys has a great taco line up, and my favorite is their Fried Chicken Taco! There are many places with some great queso, but Taco Mac will always be my favorite.

  • I-75 From The Ground Up

We will be talking a lot about our beloved back roads and highways, but get this. When I-75 was under construction in the 60’s and 70’s, almost all of the materials were sourced from our home town Vulcan Materials Quarry in Kennesaw. You probably haven’t noticed from the road, but the quarry is more than 650 feet deep and more than a mile long. They didn’t have to move the rock far to build the interstate!

  • Corridor Real Estate

Considering the Corridor seems to stretch out for miles, it can be difficult to determine where you may want to own a home. I recommend starting in the Cartersville area and browsing southward. The closer you get to Atlanta, the higher prices will be. Whatever fits your budget is a good place to start!

  • History

You may have noticed by now that we love our local history. Did you know that Georgia does not have a National Park? However, we have Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. This was the site of the last major battle before Sherman burned Atlanta in 1864.

  • Etowah Indian Mounds

The historical mounds in Cartersville are one of the coolest sites in all of Georgia, and they’re right here in our Corridor! Though some locals may take these for granted as just another historical site, acheologists believe that Native Americans built these as early as 1000 AD. These structures date back more than 1000 years and you are able to explore them yourself! If you are visiting the area, this is a must see! You will enjoy open fields and walking trails on the banks of the Etowah River while you are there.

  • Road Trip

If you live here, you may already know it’s not hard to get away for a day or weekend. We are 4 hours from Savannah, 6 hours from the Florida Panhandle, and surrounded by mountains. If you need some fresh air on a quiet beach or mountain peaks, you can easily get there! Did you know that The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is the most visited National Park in the entire nation? Just 3 hours from here, you can reach the park that visitors from all over the world come to see.
