Cartersville, GA. Where industry meets the Appalachian foothills.

Atlanta reaches for miles in all directions, and in Cartersville it reaches the Appalachians. Shrouded in history and American ingenuity, the seat of Bartow County is one of a kind. In one day, you can experience mountain peaks, quiet rivers, and an exciting night life… All of this just an hour away from Atlanta and Chattanooga.

Like other cities along the corridor, Cartersville experienced much of its growth in the post-civil war era. Beginning in 1865, the South placed an emphasis on infrastructure and culture. Moving beyond the war was not just necessity, but an opportunity to improve industry and transportation. As you’ll see in our Bridges of Bartow Exhibit, there was much innovation surrounding the water and railways in the area.

History is just around the bend.
